Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport (IATA: ZAG, ICAO: LDZA), also known as Zagreb Airport, is the primary international airport serving Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, and the busiest airport in the country. Located about 10 km southeast of Zagreb city centre in the municipality of Velika Gorica, ZAG is the main hub for Croatia Airlines (OU) and a key gateway to Croatia and the Adriatic coast.
Opened in 1962 and renamed in 2016 after Franjo Tuđman, the first President of Croatia, the airport has grown to become the largest and most important aviation hub in the country. It operates a single, modern passenger terminal that opened in March 2017, replacing the older terminal building. The new terminal was designed by the Croatian-Italian architectural firm Neidhardt and has capacity for 5 million passengers per year, with room for expansion to 8 million. The airport also has a dedicated cargo area and is connected to Zagreb by the ZET bus line 290, taxi, and ride-hailing services.

The new terminal was designed by the Croatian-Italian architectural firm Neidhardt and has capacity for 5 million passengers per year, with room for expansion to 8 million in future phases.
The terminal is a single-level building designed for efficient passenger flow, with check-in counters, security screening, and the departures area all on the same level. The terminal has 30 check-in desks, 23 gates (including 4 with jet bridges), and 6 baggage claim belts. The design emphasises natural light and simple navigation, with clear signage in Croatian and English throughout.
The terminal features a large duty-free area, multiple lounges (including the Croatia Airlines Business Lounge and the PrimeClass Lounge), a wide range of dining options, and a business centre. The airport also has a dedicated cargo terminal, capable of handling 20,000 tonnes of cargo per year, with cold storage, live animal quarantine, and plant quarantine facilities.
The airport operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The minimum connection time at ZAG is 45 minutes for most transfers, as all gates are within the same terminal building.

ZET Bus Line 290
The ZET bus line 290 connects Zagreb Airport to Kvaternikov trg, one of the main squares in Zagreb, and to the main bus station (Autobusni kolodvor). The bus runs approximately every 25–35 minutes from 04:30 to 22:30. The journey takes 30–40 minutes. A single ticket costs €1.33 (10 HRK) if purchased in advance or €1.99 (15 HRK) if purchased from the driver. Tickets can also be purchased via the ZET app or at kiosks.
Airport Shuttle Bus
An airport shuttle bus connects the airport to the main bus station (Autobusni kolodvor) in central Zagreb. The bus is operated by Plesoprijevoz and meets all arriving flights. The journey takes about 30 minutes. A single ticket costs €8 (60 HRK). This is a convenient option for passengers with luggage.
Taxi
Official taxis are available 24/7 outside the Arrivals hall. The journey to Zagreb city centre takes 20–30 minutes depending on traffic and costs approximately €25–35. Only licensed taxis should be used. Recommended taxi apps include Cammeo and Radio Taxi Zagreb.
Ride-hailing
Uber and Bolt operate at ZAG. Pick-up zones are clearly marked outside the terminal. Prices are usually 20–30% cheaper than regular taxis, but can be higher during peak hours.
