Terminals

Dubai International Airport operates three passenger terminals connected by the Dubai Metro Red Line, free shuttle buses, and a 24-hour airport transfer service.

Terminal 1 is the main building for most international airlines, including British Airways (BA), Lufthansa (LH), Singapore Airlines (SQ), and Air France (AF). It has six concourses (A, B, C, D, E, and F) and is directly connected to the Dubai Metro Red Line.

Terminal 2 is used by low-cost carriers and charter flights, including some flydubai (FZ) routes and regional airlines. It is smaller and located on the opposite side of the airport, about 10 minutes by shuttle from Terminals 1 and 3.

Terminal 3 is the largest building in the world by floor area and is used exclusively by Emirates (EK) and Qantas (QF). It has four concourses (A, B, C, and the new Concourse D) and features premium lounges, duty-free shopping, and the Emirates First Class Lounge.

A free 24-hour shuttle bus connects all three terminals every 10–15 minutes. Journey time between Terminal 2 and Terminals 1/3 is around 10–15 minutes. Passengers connecting between flights in different terminals should allow at least 60 minutes for the transfer.

Dubai International Airport is well connected to Dubai city centre and the rest of the UAE through several transport options.

Dubai Metro

The Dubai Metro Red Line has two stations at the airport: Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Trains run every 4–10 minutes from 5:00 AM to midnight (until 1:00 AM on Thursdays and Fridays). Journey time to Bur Dubai is about 30 minutes, and to Dubai Marina about 50 minutes. Cost starts from AED 3 (approximately $0.80).

Taxi

Official cream-coloured taxis wait outside all three terminals. Fixed rates apply from the airport. Journey to Deira is about 15–20 minutes (AED 40–50), to Dubai Marina 30–45 minutes (AED 80–100), and to Abu Dhabi around 90 minutes (AED 250–300).

Ride-hailing

Uber and Careem operate at DXB. Pickup zones are clearly marked outside each terminal. Prices are similar to taxis but can be higher during peak hours.

Bus

Public buses operated by RTA connect the airport to various areas of Dubai. Bus routes 401, 402, 4, 11, 15, 24, 32C, 33, 34, and 43 serve different terminals. Cost from AED 3. Slower than the Metro but cheaper.
