Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (IATA: AMS, ICAO: EHAM) is the primary international airport serving Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, and the busiest airport in the country. Departure Hall 1 primarily serves KLM (KL) and its SkyTeam partners, including Delta Air Lines (DL), Air France (AF), and KLM Cityhopper. It provides access to Concourses B, C, and D, which handle a mix of European and intercontinental flights.
Departure Hall 2 is used by many international carriers, including British Airways (BA), Lufthansa (LH), and several oneworld and SkyTeam members. It provides access to Concourses E, F, and G, which handle both European and long-haul flights.
Departure Hall 3 is primarily used by low-cost carriers such as easyJet (U2) and Transavia (HV), as well as charter operators. It provides access to Concourses H and M, which handle mostly European flights.
The terminal also features a large shopping area, numerous restaurants, a casino, a branch of the Rijksmuseum, and a public library. The airport’s single-terminal design means passengers can walk between most gates, though some gates require a short train or bus transfer.
The minimum connection time at AMS is 50 minutes for most transfers within the same terminal, and 75 minutes for transfers between distant concourses.

Transportation
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is exceptionally well connected to Amsterdam city centre and the surrounding region. The airport is located about 9 km southwest of Amsterdam, and its railway station is directly underneath the terminal.
Train
Schiphol has its own railway station (Schiphol Airport) located directly below the terminal. Trains run to Amsterdam Centraal every 5–10 minutes, with a journey time of about 15–20 minutes. A single ticket costs approximately €5.60. There are also direct trains to other Dutch cities and international destinations such as Brussels and Paris. This is the fastest and most convenient option.
Bus
Several bus lines connect Schiphol to Amsterdam and the surrounding area. Bus 397 (Amsterdam Airport Express) runs to Museumplein and Leidseplein in about 30–40 minutes. Fares start from €6.50. Night buses also operate.
Taxi
Official taxis are available 24/7 outside the Arrivals hall. A journey to Amsterdam city centre takes 20–30 minutes depending on traffic and costs approximately €40–60. Only licensed taxis should be used.
Ride-hailing
Uber and Bolt operate at AMS. Pick-up zones are clearly marked outside the terminal. Prices are usually similar to taxis but can be higher during peak hours.
