Singapore Changi Airport (IATA: SIN, ICAO: WSSS) is the primary international airport serving Singapore, a city-state in Southeast Asia. Located about 20 km east of the city centre in the Changi district, SIN is the main hub for Singapore Airlines (SQ) and its low-cost subsidiary Scoot (TR), and a key base for Jetstar Asia (3K) and AirAsia (AK).

Terminals
Singapore Changi Airport operates four passenger terminals — Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, and Terminal 4 — plus the Jewel Changi Airport complex. All terminals are connected by the free Changi Airport Skytrain and shuttle buses.
Terminal 1 is the oldest terminal and serves a mix of full-service and low-cost carriers, including Jetstar Asia (3K), AirAsia (AK), and various international airlines. It was extensively renovated in 2019 and features a cactus garden, a swimming pool, and a wide range of dining and shopping options.
Terminal 2 is used primarily by Singapore Airlines (SQ) and its Star Alliance partners, including Lufthansa (LH), United Airlines (UA), and All Nippon Airways (NH). It was expanded in 2023 and features a new departure hall, additional gates, and enhanced retail and dining options.
Terminal 3 is the largest terminal and also serves Singapore Airlines (SQ) for many of its long-haul flights, as well as other international carriers. It features a butterfly garden, a movie theatre, and a wide range of lounges, including the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge.
Terminal 4 is the newest terminal, opened in 2017, and is used by low-cost carriers including AirAsia (AK), Cathay Pacific (CX), Korean Air (KE), and Vietnam Airlines (VN). It features a fully automated check-in and bag-drop system, facial recognition technology, and a centralised security screening area.
Jewel Changi Airport is a mixed-use complex directly connected to Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. It features the Rain Vortex (the world’s tallest indoor waterfall), the Shiseido Forest Valley, a hotel (YOTEL Singapore), and a wide range of retail and dining options. Jewel is open to both passengers and the public.
A free Changi Airport Skytrain connects Terminals 1, 2, and 3 between 05:00 and 02:30. Free shuttle buses connect all terminals 24 hours a day.
The minimum connection time at SIN is 60 minutes for most transfers, with some airlines offering 45-minute minimum connections at the same terminal.

Transportation
Singapore Changi Airport is exceptionally well connected to the city centre and the surrounding region through several transport options. The airport is located about 20 km east of the city centre.
MRT (Mass Rapid Transit)
The MRT East-West Line connects Changi Airport to the city centre. The station is located between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, accessible via escalators and lifts. Trains run every 5–10 minutes from 05:30 to 24:00. The journey to City Hall takes about 30 minutes. A single ticket costs approximately S$2.00–2.50 (approximately $1.50–1.90). This is the fastest and most affordable option.
Taxi
Official taxis are available 24/7 at designated taxi stands outside each terminal. The journey to the city centre takes 20–30 minutes depending on traffic and costs approximately S$20–40 (approximately $15–30). Fares include an airport surcharge of S$5–8. Only licensed taxis should be used.
Ride-hailing
Grab, Gojek, and TADA operate at Changi Airport. Pick-up zones are clearly marked outside each terminal. Prices are usually similar to or slightly higher than taxis.
Airport Shuttle Bus
The Changi Airport Shuttle Bus connects all terminals to various hotels in the city centre. Buses run every 20–30 minutes. A single ticket costs approximately S$9.
