Phu Bai International Airport (IATA: HUI, ICAO: VVPB) is the primary international gateway to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The airport is located in Phu Bai Ward, Huong Thuy Town, approximately 13–15 kilometres southeast of Hue city centre, along National Highway 1A. It is managed and operated by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and serves as a vital aviation hub for the North Central region of Vietnam, supporting tourism and trade for Thua Thien Hue Province and surrounding areas.
The airport is a dual-use civil and military airfield, classified as ICAO level 4E, capable of handling aircraft types including the Airbus A350, Boeing 747, Boeing 777, and Airbus A320/A321.
