Overview
Minsk National Airport (IATA: MSQ, ICAO: UMMS), formerly known as Minsk-2, is the primary international airport serving Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Located about 42 km east of Minsk city centre near the town of Smolevichi, MSQ is the main hub for Belavia (B2), the national carrier of Belarus, and the country’s largest and busiest airport.
Opened in 1982 and extensively modernised in 2014, Minsk National Airport has grown to become the main gateway to Belarus. It operates a single, modern passenger terminal that was rebuilt and expanded ahead of the 2014 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. The terminal features 30 check-in desks, 10 gates (including 6 with jet bridges), and a large duty-free area. The airport also has a dedicated cargo terminal and is connected to Minsk by bus line 300Э, taxi, and ride-hailing services.
MSQ connects to over 30 destinations across Russia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Middle East, and Asia, served by more than 10 airlines. It is the main hub for Belavia (B2) and a key base for Aeroflot (SU), Pobeda (DP), Red Wings (WZ), Flydubai (FZ), Air China (CA), Uzbekistan Airways (HY), and SCAT (DV). The airport remains operational, but its route network is significantly reduced compared to pre-2022 levels. In the summer 2026 season, Minsk National Airport served 34 destinations operated by more than 10 airlines.

The terminal features 30 check-in desks, 10 gates (including 6 with jet bridges), and a large duty-free area. It is designed for efficient passenger flow, with check-in counters and security screening located on the ground floor and the departures area on the upper level. The terminal offers a range of passenger amenities including duty-free shops, cafes and restaurants, a business lounge, free Wi-Fi, and a tourist information desk.
The airport also has a dedicated cargo terminal and a separate general aviation facility. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The airport is the main base for Belavia (B2), the national carrier of Belarus.
The minimum connection time at MSQ is 45 minutes for most transfers, as all gates are within the same terminal building.

Bus Route 300Э
Bus route 300Э connects Minsk National Airport directly to the city centre, including stops at the main railway station (Minsk-Passazhirsky) and the central bus station. Buses run every 15–30 minutes from early morning to late evening. The journey to the city centre takes about 50–60 minutes. A single ticket costs approximately 4 BYN (approximately €1.20). Tickets can be purchased from the driver.
Taxi
Official taxis are available 24/7 outside the Arrivals hall. The journey to Minsk city centre takes 40–60 minutes depending on traffic and costs approximately 60–90 BYN (approximately €18–27). Only licensed taxis should be used. Ride-hailing services like Yandex.Taxi and Bolt also operate at MSQ.

Yandex.Taxi operates at MSQ. Pick-up zones are clearly marked outside the terminal. Prices are usually similar to official taxis, with fares to the city centre typically 50–70 BYN (approximately €15–21).

Important Note on Flights
Due to the closure of Belarusian airspace to most Western carriers since 2022, there are currently no direct flights to Minsk from most European, North American, or other international destinations. Travellers from these regions typically need to connect through Istanbul (IST), Dubai (DXB), Moscow (SVO), or other hubs in Russia, the Caucasus, or Central Asia. Check with your airline for the most up-to-date routing options.
