Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport (IATA: BCN, ICAO: LEBL) is the primary international airport serving Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, and the second busiest airport in the country. The airport is located approximately 12 to 14 kilometres southwest of Barcelona city centre, in the municipality of El Prat de Llobregat, and is classified as a Category 4F international hub.
BCN is a base for Vueling, Iberia, and numerous European legacy carriers, as well as a major operating base for low-cost airlines including Ryanair and easyJet. In 2025, Barcelona–El Prat Airport handled 57,483,036 passengers, a 4.4% increase over 2024 and a new all-time record.
The airport operates two terminals — T1 and T2 — located approximately 4 kilometres apart with no airside connection. Terminal 1 opened in 2009, was designed by architect Ricardo Bofill, and is the newer and larger of the two terminals, serving legacy carriers and most Schengen flights. Terminal 2 is the older complex, primarily serving low-cost carriers, and is divided into three connected areas: T2A, T2B, and T2C. The airport has three runways measuring 2,525 metres, 2,600 metres, and 3,350 metres respectively.
