Da Nang International Airport (IATA: DAD, ICAO: VVDN) is the largest aviation gateway in Central Vietnam and one of the three busiest international airports in the country, alongside Noi Bai in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City. The airport serves Da Nang city and the wider Central Highlands region, connecting directly to domestic and international destinations across Asia and the Middle East.
The airport is located in Hai Chau District, just about 3 kilometres from the city centre, making it one of the closest major airports to a downtown area in Vietnam. This convenient location allows visitors to easily reach beachfront resorts, downtown Da Nang, Hoi An Ancient Town, or the former imperial capital of Hue.
Da Nang International Airport is a dual-use civil and military airport, classified as a 4E airport under ICAO standards. It operates two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 (T1) for domestic flights and Terminal 2 (T2) for international flights. The airport handles more than 260 domestic and international flights daily, with over 40,000 passengers passing through per day.
In 2025, the airport experienced a significant resurgence in air traffic, with Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport serving a combined total of over 7.8 million passengers, an increase of 11.7% compared to 2024. This included over 3.3 million international passengers (up 8.9%) and nearly 4.5 million domestic passengers (up 13.9%). The airport now operates 18 regular international routes across Asia and the Middle East.
