King Abdulaziz International Airport operates three commercial passenger terminals — Terminal 1, North Terminal, and the Hajj Terminal — plus a Royal Terminal and a General Aviation Terminal.
Terminal 1, previously known as the South Terminal, was soft-launched in 2018 and fully inaugurated in 2019. It is the main hub for international and domestic flights, featuring 46 gates, a mosque accommodating 3,000 worshippers, a peaceful outdoor courtyard, and a 4-star transit hotel for rest between flights. Terminal 1 is used by Saudia (SV), flynas (XY), flyadeal (F3), and most international airlines including Emirates (EK), Qatar Airways (QR), and British Airways (BA).
The North Terminal is used mainly by international airlines such as Emirates (EK), Gulf Air (GF), Qatar Airways (QR), British Airways (BA), Air India (AI), and Pakistan International Airlines (PK). It features 14 gates, 54 check-in desks, and 55 immigration counters, with self-service kiosks available during peak travel times.
The Hajj Terminal is a dedicated facility for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, capable of accommodating up to 80,000 passengers at any given time. It has a distinctive tent-like roof that emulates the umbrellas in the courtyard of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. The terminal also houses a souk (market) and a mosque.
A free shuttle bus connects all terminals. Passengers should allow at least 30–45 minutes for transfers between terminals.

Haramain High-Speed Railway
The Haramain High-Speed Railway station is located within the airport terminal building. Trains connect the airport directly to Makkah and Madinah, offering fast and comfortable travel to the Holy Cities without additional transfers. Operating hours are daily from 06:30 to 00:30. Journey time to Makkah is approximately 30 minutes, and to Madinah about 2 hours 20 minutes.
Taxi
Official taxis are available outside the arrivals area of each terminal. Fixed rates apply to various destinations inside Jeddah. The journey to Jeddah city centre costs around SAR 90–120 (approximately $24–32) and takes 25–40 minutes depending on traffic.
Ride-hailing
Uber and Careem operate at JED. Pick-up zones are clearly marked outside each terminal. Prices are similar to taxis but can be higher during peak hours.
Public Bus
Public bus services connect the airport to Jeddah. Bus Line 7 from the Airport Station covers a distance of 19 km to the city centre. Buses are the cheapest option but have more stops and longer journey times.
