Hamad International Airport operates a single, state-of-the-art passenger terminal that is divided into five airside-connected concourses: A, B, C, D, and E. The terminal is one of the largest buildings in Qatar, covering 600,000 square metres, and has been named the world’s best airport three times by Skytrax.
Concourses A, B, and C are primarily used by Qatar Airways (QR) and its oneworld partners, including British Airways (BA), Cathay Pacific (CX), and Qantas (QF). Concourse D serves international carriers such as Lufthansa (LH), Air France (AF), and KLM (KL). Concourse E handles flights to and from the United States, Canada, and select European destinations, and is also used by Qatar Airways (QR).
Passengers can walk between concourses in approximately 5–10 minutes, and a free 24/7 shuttle bus also connects all concourses. The shuttle runs every 10–15 minutes and is located outside the arrival area of each concourse.
The Orchard, a 10,000-square-metre indoor tropical garden, is the centrepiece of the terminal and a popular spot for passengers during long layovers. The terminal also features a public mosque, a hotel (Oryx Airport Hotel), a swimming pool, a gym, and multiple lounges.
For passengers connecting between flights, the minimum connection time at DOH is 60 minutes for most transfers. Qatar Airways (QR) passengers with layovers of 8 hours or more may be eligible for a free transit visa and a complimentary city tour, subject to availability.

Baggage Claim
After landing, follow the Arrivals signs to passport control (for international flights) and then to the baggage claim area. Baggage belts are displayed on screens inside the terminal and on the live arrivals board above.

Getting from DOH to the City
Hamad International Airport is well connected to Doha city centre and the rest of Qatar through several transport options. The bus pavilion and taxi pavilion are located on either side of the Arrivals Hall, and the Metro station is within a short indoor walking distance from the terminal.
Doha Metro
The Doha Metro Red Line has a station directly connected to Terminal 1 via a short indoor walkway. Trains run every few minutes from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM (later on Thursdays and Fridays). A standard journey costs QAR 2 (approximately $0.55), and a day pass is QAR 6. The Metro connects the airport to key destinations including Msheireb (main interchange), West Bay, Katara, and Lusail. Journey time to Msheireb is about 20 minutes. Children under five travel free.
Karwa Taxi
Official Karwa taxis wait at the Taxi Pavilion at the left end of the Arrivals Hall. The airport starting fare is QAR 25, and a journey to central Doha typically costs QAR 40–60. Journey time to West Bay or Corniche is about 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic. Only authorized taxis should be used.
Ride-hailing
Uber, Badrgo, and Ryde are authorized ride-hailing services at DOH. Pick-up areas are located inside the multi-level parking facility, not at the terminal curb side. Prices are similar to taxis but can be higher during peak hours.
Bus
Karwa public buses operate selected airport routes, with fares around QAR 2.50–3. Buses are the cheapest option but have more stops and longer journey times. The bus pavilion is located at the right end of the Arrivals Hall.

Car Rental
