Adelaide Airport (IATA: ADL, ICAO: YPAD) is the primary international airport serving Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, and the fifth busiest airport in Australia. The airport is located approximately 6 kilometres west of Adelaide’s city centre, adjacent to the seaside suburb of West Beach.

Adelaide Airport is a major hub for Qantas, Virgin Australia, and Jetstar, and serves as the primary gateway between South Australia and destinations across Australia, Asia, and the Pacific. The airport operates a single integrated terminal (Terminal 1) that brings international, domestic, and regional flights together under one roof, a design that opened in October 2005.

Since May 1998, Adelaide Airport Limited has managed the airport under a 50-year lease agreement with the Commonwealth Government, with shareholders primarily consisting of Australian superannuation funds. Parafield Airport, Australia’s premier general aviation airport, is also managed by the same company.

In FY25, Adelaide Airport set a record with 8.73 million passengers, a 2.3% increase over the previous year. International traffic exceeded 1 million passengers for the first time, growing 7.7%, while domestic and regional traffic rose 1.6% to 7.7 million. For the 2025 calendar year, passenger numbers increased 4.1% year-on-year to exceed 9 million for the first time, with international passenger numbers up 20.7%.
