LaGuardia Airport (IATA: LGA, ICAO: KLGA) is one of the three major airports serving the New York metropolitan area, located in East Elmhurst, Queens, approximately 8 miles from Midtown Manhattan. The airport is owned and operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

LaGuardia opened in 1939 and is the closest airport to Manhattan among the three New York area airports. It serves as a hub for American Airlines and Delta Air Lines, with a focus on domestic and short-haul international flights. The airport operates under a federal perimeter rule that generally limits nonstop flights to destinations within 1,500 miles, with exceptions for flights to and from Denver on Saturdays.

LaGuardia is home to three passenger terminals: Terminal A (historically known as the Marine Air Terminal), Terminal B, and Terminal C. The airport has undergone a major $8 billion renovation completed in 2023, transforming it into a modern, world-class facility with new terminals, improved roadways, and enhanced passenger amenities.

In 2024, LaGuardia Airport served approximately 32 million passengers, making it the third busiest airport in the New York metropolitan area. All three terminals have TSA PreCheck lanes, and Terminal C is equipped with CLEAR kiosks. Free unlimited Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport.
