Qatar Airways (QR)

Qatar Airways (IATA: QR, ICAO: QTR) is the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, based in Doha. Founded in 1993, the airline has grown to become one of the world’s leading international carriers, serving over 160 destinations across six continents from its hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH).

Qatar Airways operates a modern fleet of Airbus A350, Boeing 777, and Airbus A380 aircraft, known for its Qsuite business class product and award-winning service. The airline has been named “World’s Best Airline” nine times by Skytrax, most recently in 2025 [citation:1]. It is also the launch customer of the Airbus A350 and a pioneer in inflight connectivity, being the first global airline to operate a Starlink-equipped flight in 2024 [citation:15].

Qatar Airways is a member of the oneworld alliance, which it joined in 2013 as the first Gulf super-connector to enter a global alliance [citation:7]. African and American routes include Nairobi (NBO), Johannesburg (JNB), Cape Town (CPT), Zanzibar (ZNZ), São Paulo (GRU), New York (JFK), Chicago (ORD), Miami (MIA), and Toronto (YYZ).
