Vilnius International Airport (IATA: VNO, ICAO: EYVI) is the primary international airport serving Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, and the busiest airport in the country. Located about 7 km south of Vilnius city centre in the district of Kirtimai, VNO is the main hub for airBaltic (BT) and a key base for Ryanair (FR) and Wizz Air (W6).
Opened in 1932 and extensively modernised in 2007, Vilnius Airport has grown to become Lithuania’s largest aviation hub. It operates a single, modern passenger terminal that handles all international and domestic flights, along with a dedicated VIP terminal and a cargo facility. The terminal was expanded in 2023 with a new departures area, increasing capacity to 3.5 million passengers per year. The airport also has a dedicated cargo area and is connected to Vilnius by bus line 3G, train, and taxi services.
VNO connects to over 60 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and the Caucasus, served by more than 15 airlines. It is a key hub for airBaltic (BT) and a major gateway between the Baltic States and the rest of Europe. The main terminal was extensively modernised in 2007 and further expanded in 2023 with a new departures area, increasing annual capacity to 3.5 million passengers. The terminal is designed for efficient passenger flow, with check-in counters and security screening located on the ground floor and the departures area on the upper level. The recent expansion added new gates, additional security lanes, and a larger duty-free area.
The terminal features a range of passenger amenities including duty-free shops, cafes and restaurants, a business lounge, free Wi-Fi, and a tourist information desk. The airport operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The airport also has a dedicated cargo terminal, which handles the majority of Lithuania’s air cargo traffic. A separate general aviation facility is located on the northern side of the airport.
The minimum connection time at VNO is 30–45 minutes for most transfers, as all gates are within the same terminal building.

Transportation
Vilnius International Airport is well connected to Vilnius city centre and the surrounding region through several transport options. The airport is located about 7 km south of Vilnius city centre.
Bus Route 3G
The 3G express bus connects Vilnius Airport directly to the city centre, including stops at the central railway station and the bus station. Buses run every 10–15 minutes from 05:00 to 23:00. The journey to the city centre takes about 20–25 minutes. A single ticket costs €1.00 if purchased via the Trafi app or at kiosks, or €2.00 from the driver.
Train
The train station is located about 500 metres from the terminal and can be reached via a pedestrian walkway. Trains connect the airport to Vilnius Central Railway Station, with a journey time of about 7 minutes. Trains run frequently throughout the day. A single ticket costs approximately €0.70. This is the fastest and most affordable option for reaching the city centre.
Taxi
Official taxis are available 24/7 outside the Arrivals hall. The journey to Vilnius city centre takes 15–20 minutes depending on traffic and costs approximately €10–15. Only licensed taxis should be used. Taxi apps like Bolt and Uber are also available and are usually cheaper.
Ride-hailing
Bolt and Uber operate at VNO. Pick-up zones are clearly marked outside the terminal. Prices are usually 20–30% cheaper than official taxis, with fares to the city centre typically €7–12.
Private Transfer
